Accessibility
Review River should be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and stronger contrast. This page explains what we do about that and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
What we aim for
This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard most commonly referenced for public websites in the United States.
What that means here
- Every page works without a mouse, and the keyboard focus outline stays visible as you move through the page.
- Text meets the contrast ratios the guidelines ask for, including buttons, links and the orange highlights used throughout the site.
- Images carry text descriptions, and purely decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Headings run in order, so a screen reader can jump between sections rather than reading every page top to bottom.
- Nothing auto-plays, and nothing moves on its own.
- Text stays readable when you zoom, and the layout reflows on a phone instead of forcing you to scroll sideways.
Where we know we fall short
Our contact and booking forms are embedded from a third-party scheduling provider, so parts of those two pages are outside our direct control. If you have trouble with a form, call or email us and we will take your details that way — you never have to use the form to reach us or to book a call.
We do not use an accessibility overlay or accessibility widget. Those tools are widely reported to interfere with the screen readers and browser settings people already rely on, so we would rather fix the underlying pages.
Our own product
Review River sends review requests by text and email on behalf of our clients. Those messages are plain text and plain links by design, with no images required to understand them, so they work with screen readers and with images turned off. If you receive a review request from a business using Review River and cannot read or respond to it, contact us and we will make sure that business can reach you another way.
Tell us about a problem
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use — including if you would simply prefer the information another way — we want to hear about it. Email help@thereviewriver.com or call 281.882.9921.
Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we will reply. If the fix is quick we will make it straight away; if it is larger we will tell you what we are doing and roughly when.
